Measurement & threshold gas detectors DG/EM

The DG/EM digital, cost-effective detectors are designed for continuous monitoring of gas levels indoors. Monitoring involves measuring the concentration of a specific gas in the surrounding air. When specified concentration levels are exceeded, the detector’s visual alarm is activated and information is transmitted to the digital monitoring module (via an industrial-standard RS-485 network). The detectors are designed to operate within the Digital Gas Detection System. These detectors are a cost-effective version of the DG/M detectors.

Detectors feature a replaceable module with a semiconductor or optical (Infra-Red) sensor. The replaceability of the sensor modules streamlines maintenance, simplifies calibration, and reduces operating costs.

DG/EM detectors are standard-design devices and must not be used in areas classified as hazardous zones due to the presence of gas, vapor, or dust.

Scope of application

  • industrial facilities,
  • logistics centers,
  • public buildings,
  • large spaces at risk of toxic or explosive gas emissions.

Features

  • communication, control, and data transmission via an RS-485 port, in accordance with the MODBUS RTU protocol;
  • 3 standard alarm thresholds set during manufacturing (the third threshold is usually the upper measurement range of the gas sensor);
  • built-in control microprocessor = reliability, operational stability, thermal compensation circuit, alarm history, semi-automatic addressing in a digital network (without opening the housing);
  • visual indication: multicolor LED;
  • removable screwless terminals;
  • sensors in replaceable, intelligent modules (interchangeable with DG/F, DG/M);
  • relatively short gas penetration time through the sensor housing = short detector response time;
  • splash-proof housing made of high-impact ABS (IP44), 2 cable glands – easy connection of additional detectors (in-line); selective optical indication;
  • only selected sensor modules with standard calibration are interchangeable (different modules can be used with the same DG/EM housing) – however, installation conditions for specific media must be taken into account! NOTE: If a different calibration or gas other than those listed below is required => use DG/M detectors;
  • configuration of detector settings using the dedicated configuration software „DETnet View”;
  • all detectors are calibrated in GAZEX Calibration Laboratory operating in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation no. AP150).
